President Obama

I am wondering...why the President has chosen to close Guantanamo Bay. I do not believe in my heart of hearts that this was an intelligent decision on his part. There will inevitably be many more terrorist detainee's who need to go somewhere and geographical United States is a little too close to home to be putting people who want to destroy us. Also using some "Army Field Manual" tactics will not in my opinion get any further information from the detainees that the CIA could not. Yes President Bush wanted to "repatriate" these men and even their own country did not want these people back. So what do we do in this case? Do we set them free to roam as they please? Do we bring them to America to be detained until further investigations and categorizations are completed?

Source Fox News

"In 2003, President Bush signed an executive order labeling Al-Marri an "enemy combatant" and removing him from civilian custody. The order made the Defense Department responsible for Al-Marri who has been kept in isolation at the Navy brig in Charleston, S.C. His lawyers argue that the president has no "inherent authority" to hold him without charge for an unlimited time."

My question is, whether or not he had the "inherent authority" or not, why has it taken so long to begin prosecution on Al Marri?
Also another question I have is why is he being detained at a naval brig on American Soil?

I would love to hear what you all think....
